BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: VA Space Flight Academy offers week-long residential camps each summer for boys and girls ages 11-16. Campers build and launch rockets; design, build and program robots; and tour NASA facilities at Wallops Island, VA. Navy and NOAA facilities are also included during the week-long camp. Programs based on STEM education. If it's brain stretching fun you're after, this is the camp for you.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Science, Math, Technology, Academics, Computers, and more. Rocketry, Robotics, & Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Check Out Recent Videos On Website To Experience The Camp Through The Eyes Of Participants.
CAMP LOCATION: Located on Wallops Island, on Virginia's Eastern Shore home to NASA, NOAA, Mars, and the U.S. Navy. Adjacent to Chincoteague Island voted "Best Beach" in 2012.
CAMP FACILITIES: New dorms in 2010, air-conditioned suites. See website for photos and video.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Daily field trips to NASA operations as well as NOAA, MARS, and U.S. Navy. Focus on rocketry and robotics. Please see website to view videos that describe the camp experience. Named a Great Nonprofit for 2017. "Brain stretching fun" sums up camp philosophy.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Limited number of scholarships are available at 50%. Campers MUST apply for scholarships before registration. See FAQ section on website for how to apply.

Jobs available for summer camp counselors. College students with interest in education, rocketry or robotics, are encouraged to apply. Check the website for description of positions available.
