Science Camp Packing Ideas, Field Exploration Essentials & Fun Discovery Gear
Science Camps can take curious kids and teens from chemistry and biology labs to creek ecology, astronomy, marine biology, and fossil discovery. The right personal gear can help campers stay comfortable, organized, and ready to observe, record, and explore.
Our Science Camp Store highlights practical packing ideas and optional science-themed extras for young explorers. Specialized scientific tools and laboratory supplies are generally provided or controlled by the program.
Before You Buy: Check Your Science Camp's Packing List
Follow your camp's equipment and safety policies first. Ask whether campers should bring notebooks, outdoor clothing, water bottles, sun protection, or any other personal items. Some programs use labs, field sites, school campuses, and specialized facilities with different requirements.
Do not bring chemicals, specimens, collecting equipment, protective gear, or personal experiment kits unless the camp explicitly approves them. Lab goggles, safety equipment, and scientific instruments should be provided or specifically approved and supervised by the camp. The shopping ideas below are optional, not required purchases.

Be sure to check your camp's official "what to bring" and "what NOT to bring" lists first. Our store is designed to highlight fun, practical, and sometimes overlooked camp gear ideas rather than basic items like T-shirts, shorts, socks, toiletries, and other everyday camp necessities.
Get Ready for Some Science Camp Fun!
Getting ready for camp is part of the adventure. Whether you're packing for a day camp, overnight camp, or a more specialized program, the right gear can make camp more comfortable, more organized, and a lot more fun. Some items help campers stay dry, stay charged, stay creative, or just feel a little more prepared once camp begins.
Weather matters, too. One of the smartest things you can do before packing is check the forecast and ask your camp exactly what kinds of clothes, shoes, rain gear, and extras are recommended. Mud, heat, cool evenings, and sudden rain can all make a difference in what campers should bring.
All camp gear and items below are sold by Amazon.com, so you can browse for ideas, compare options, and check current prices, discounts, and shipping availability. When you click on an item, you can add it to your Amazon cart and then return to this page to keep exploring other camp gear suggestions.
